So many parents tell us they just don't know what to do with their child's curls. Here's the thing we wish every curly family knew: frizz is a hydration problem, not a styling problem. Curly hair is naturally drier, and regular conditioner isn't made for what curls need. Once you give curls the moisture they're asking for, they start to behave.

Our salon tips for frizzy curls
- Don't brush dry curls. It breaks up the curl pattern and turns it into a frizz cloud. Detangle in the bath instead, with conditioner in.
- Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Work from the ends up, gently, while the hair is wet and slippery.
- Style while it's soaking wet. Rake curl cream through with your fingers while the hair is still dripping, then scrunch it upwards in your hands. This is where the curl shape gets set.
- Scrunch, don't rub. Swap the towel rub for a gentle squeeze with an old t-shirt. Rubbing roughs up the hair and makes frizz.
- Hands off while it dries. The more little hands touch it, the frizzier it gets. Let it air dry where you can.
- Refresh, don't rewash. On day two, mist with water and a little curl spray, then scrunch to bring curls back to life.
