1. Detangle and Brush When Conditioner Is In

Hack: Detangling curly hair while the conditioner is still in is a game-changer. It helps keep curls defined and prevents breakage.  Once you've rinsed and hop out of the shower, your curls should be left untouched as much as possible.  Brushing your hair at this point will stretch out the curl and make it fluffy.

Why It Works: The conditioner provides slip, making it easier to gently detangle without pulling on delicate curls. This technique helps maintain the curl pattern while ensuring your child’s hair stays healthy and manageable.

Tip: Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle while the conditioner is still in, and follow up with a leave-in Curl Cream to lock in moisture.

2. Fixing Frizzy Sections with Curl Cream

Hack: If you have sections of curls that are constantly frizzy (usually the top layers), manually twisting those areas with curl cream can encourage the curl and tame the frizz.
Why It Works: Twisting the curl cream into these sections creates definition and smooths out frizzy areas by encouraging the natural curl pattern to form.

Tip: Apply a small amount of curl cream to the frizzy sections and use your fingers to twist them in the direction of the curl to enhance their shape.

3. DON'T TOWEL DRY! Apply Products to Wet Hair for Best Absorption

Hack: Curly hair loves moisture, so applying products to wet hair is key for proper absorption. This prevents frizz and ensures the curls stay hydrated and defined.
Why It Works: Wet hair absorbs products more effectively, which helps the curls maintain their shape and softness. Towel drying hair can lead to frizz, so opt for a microfiber towel or an old t-shirt to gently blot excess moisture.

Tip: After washing, apply your products (curl cream and curl spray) to wet hair for the best results.

4. "Praying Hands" Motion for Smoothing Frizz

Hack: To smooth frizzy curls, apply curl cream in a “praying hands” motion. This technique smooths down the cuticle, giving curls a polished, frizz-free finish.
Why It Works: This motion helps seal the moisture in the hair while keeping the curls defined, especially around the cuticle where frizz is most common.

Tip: Applying your curl cream, by gently press the product into your hair using the "praying hands" motion from root to tip. This method keeps your curls hydrated without disrupting their natural shape.

Caring for curly hair doesn’t have to be a battle. By incorporating these simple hacks into your daily routine, you’ll keep your child’s curls looking healthy, defined, and frizz-free. Every curl is unique, but with the right techniques and products, you can help your child embrace their natural beauty and love their hair every day.
